11186 Pte Joseph Watson HAZLEHURST 6th Batt Kings Own Yorkshire Light Infantry.
Killed in Action 20th September 1915
Joseph was born at Attercliffe in 1893 but by 1901 cab be seen in the census record living as a boarder at Nether Green, Unstone, Dronfield. In 1911 he is living at 13 Newark Street, Attercliffe and is employed as a forge lad.
His WW1 service papers have not survived so information is limited but we can see from his medal index card that he entered France on the 21st May 1915.
He is recorded as being killed in action on the 20th September 1915 and is buried in the Ypres Reservoir Cemetery.
